Where to Find Sadie’s Harmonica in RDR2
You can find Sadie’s elusive harmonica in a wooden shack at a pig farm called Granger’s Hoggery, which is located in the Heartlands. Simply put, look south of Valentine to find Flatneck Station. A little bit east of that station, there’s the pig farm which belongs to Emmet Granger, a former gunslinger Arthur encounters during “The Noblest of Men, and a Woman” side mission.
Enter the shack and check the shelf directly behind the front door, not the more obvious cupboards. The harmonica looks like a small brown box. It’s easy to overlook.
If you can’t see any pickup prompt, first try to pick up the canned vegetables, then check the shelf again. One other thing you have to keep in mind is that it may not highlight in Eagle Eye, either, so don’t rely on the glow.
How to Trigger Sadie’s Harmonica Request
Sadie’s harmonica request starts during the Chapter 3 mission “Further Questions of Female Suffrage,” when Arthur takes her to Rhodes for supplies. So if you were wondering how to trigger Sadie’s harmonica request, I have to tell you it’s unlike other gang members’ requests, where they come straight to you and ask for whatever.
So on the return trip, Sadie reminisces about the time she’d play the harmonica before losing her home and her beloved husband. Arthur then offers to find another harmonica for her. You can collect the harmonica beforehand, but this conversation triggers the request and the usual completion window is Chapters 3 through 4.
How to Give Sadie the Harmonica and Get Gun Oil
After the mission, approach Sadie at camp and choose Give Request. Easy peasy. As a reward, she leaves Gun Oil at Arthur’s wagon. This request also counts toward the Errand Boy achievement/trophy.
It’s a bittersweet exchange: when Arthur hands her the harmonica, he says he looks forward to Sadie playing it, to which Sadie replies, “The only audience I ever had was my husband and I’m going to keep it that way.” For more camp errands, see our RDR2 item requests guide.
Sadie’s Harmonica Missing or Can’t Give It to Her?
If the shelf looks empty, check behind the door again. You may also have collected the harmonica earlier. You may still be able to collect the harmonica after killing Emmet Granger, from what I could find.
If Sadie won’t accept the harmonica, quit and relaunch the game. It’s not guaranteed to work, but it’s worth trying. You may still be able to fetch her the harmonica in Chapter 6, but why the hassle? Finish the request in Chapters 3 to 4.
