Control Resonant Escort Rangers Locations & Bug Fixes

Control Resonant Escort Rangers gives you two Rangers and an objective marker, then apparently expects the destination to reveal itself through telepathy. The marker can stay near the pickup point, while names like Staging Lab and Evac Site don’t exactly scream “walk here.”
Worse, since Update 1.4, the Rangers can sometimes stop following altogether. So before blaming their AI, here’s where you’re actually supposed to take them and how to tell a bad route from a real bug.

Table of Contents
Where to Take the Rangers in Control Resonant
The destination changes by zone. Keep both Rangers close and use normal street-level routes. Dylan may enjoy rooftops, but the Rangers certainly don’t.

Central Escort Rangers Location
For Central Escort Rangers, head toward the Field Office / Field Ops area. From the pickup point, go through the PERSONNEL ACCESS doors diagonally across the street and continue into the Field Office. The destination is southeast of the Travel Door, roughly between it and Langston.
The Staging Lab wording is misleading. You’re looking for the nearby open testing area with FBC equipment, including mines and balloons, rather than simply entering the locked Staging Lab itself.
Evacuation Zone Escort Rangers Location
For the Evacuation Zone, take both Rangers to the Evac Building / Evac Site where you found Arish. The arcade and wardrobe help identify the building. Bring both Rangers to the main entrance. If the task doesn’t complete outside, move slightly through the doorway while making sure both are still with you.

Rangers Not Following or Escort Keeps Resetting?
Different problems can look similar here, so check what the Rangers are actually doing.
Rangers Don’t Move
If neither Ranger leaves the starting point, you may be hitting the post-1.4 Escort Rangers bug. The problem continued after Hotfix 1.4.1, which did not include an Escort Rangers fix. Reloading or restarting the FBC Task is worth trying, but there is no confirmed universal workaround yet.
Rangers Keep Resetting
If they follow you for a while and then reset, try sticking closely to the intended ground-level route. Avoid rooftop shortcuts or unusual terrain and keep checking that both Rangers are still behind you.
Rangers Run Off to Fight Enemies
Rangers can leave the route to engage nearby Hiss. I would clear enemies around the path first. It makes the escort easier and also tells you whether the problem is combat behavior or an actual pathfinding bug.
Is Control Resonant Escort Rangers Bugged After 1.4.1?
It can be. Escort Rangers continued to show problems after Update 1.4.0 and Hotfix 1.4.1, especially Rangers refusing to follow or unexpectedly resetting. However, Remedy has not officially listed Escort Rangers as a confirmed known issue, and 1.4.1 did not mention a fix for it.

So check the destination and route first. If both Rangers simply refuse to move from the starting point, the current escort bug is a much more likely explanation.
Escort Rangers Is Not the Same as The Unknown Resonant
There is also a Ranger sequence during The Unknown Resonant, but it is separate from the Escort Rangers FBC Task. When the Rangers stop at the locked gate and your objective changes to Open the Gate for the Rangers, they are supposed to stay there.
The gate says Opens Remotely. So leave them behind and find the alternate route around it to reach the other side. When you do, the objective changes back to Advance with the Rangers. So check the objective before declaring the Rangers broken. Sometimes they are bugged. Sometimes Remedy just wants you to go around the building.
