Control Resonant: The Complete Set Quest Bug Fix Guide

The Complete Set is a side quest in Control Resonant where you collect and properly place a set of altered speakers plus a subwoofer (usually near the Auction House) so they can be delivered to Langston.
The final step involves a dialogue sequence with a civilian and the subwoofer that should trigger a choice prompt (turn it up or off), but many players hit a common bug where the prompt never appears and the conversation loops.
The most reliable fix is a full game restart, fast-traveling out and back, then talking to the woman while the subwoofer speech is still playing and standing still until everything finishes.
In this guide, I’ll explain how to actually do this quest and how to pass the possible bugs and glitches.
What You Need:
What Is This Quest
It’s a side objective where you gather a full set of altered speakers (yes, plural) plus a subwoofer and get them properly set up in one specific location. Think of it as the Bureau’s version of assembling IKEA furniture, except the furniture might try to open a dimensional gate and the instruction manual is written in redacted government memos.

You’ll know you’re on the right track when the game starts talking about delivering a complete set to Langston at the Auction House. That’s your end goal.
If you’re new to this version of the Control universe, here’s how Control Resonant connects to the original game and why it’s considered a direct sequel.
How to Start the Complete Set
The quest doesn’t scream at you with a giant map marker the second it becomes available. You’ll pick it up naturally while exploring the areas around the Auction House and nearby zones. Keep an eye (and ear) out for:
- A subwoofer that has strong opinions
- A civilian who is very concerned about what’s coming through the audio equipment
Once you’ve collected the pieces, the game expects you to place them in the correct spots. Placement is pretty intuitive once you’re in the right room, just don’t overthink which speaker goes where. The game will let you know when something is in the right position.
Two Requirements
To do the Complete Set Quest, you need to investigate collector’s house and look for the subwoofer, these two requirements are not that hard. Anyway I’ll try to help you do them easier with the pictures below:

Finding the subwoofer and completing the quest:

The Final Setup
After everything is placed and the speakers are turned off, the sequence with the civilian and the subwoofer begins. This is where most people get stuck.
What should happen:
- Voices play.
- The civilian reacts.
- A prompt appears that lets you make the final choice (turn it up or turn it off).
What actually happens for some players (like me and you):
- The voices play.
- You hear a scream.
- The prompt never shows up.
- You can keep talking to the woman forever like she’s stuck in a customer-service loop.
If you can spam dialogue with her and nothing changes, congratulations, you are officially bugged. The game is waiting for a trigger that never fired.
The Fixes That Actually Worked

Completely restart the game (full quit, not just reload). Fast travel somewhere else (Central works fine). Travel back to the Auction House area. Talk to the woman while the subwoofer is still doing its speech. Stand still and let the entire conversation finish.
Do one or several options of restart, fast travel and talking during the speech. They were the magic sauce for me and it worked for real.
Other Things Worth Trying
Sometimes bugs are persistent as hell. In a situation like this, try these:
- Stand completely still after the voices end. Some players only got the prompt when they stopped moving.
- Reload an autosave from before you placed the speakers on the setup.
- Keep interacting with the woman until the game finally decides to let you target the subwoofer.
- Wait longer than feels reasonable after the scream. The trigger seems slightly mistimed for some people.
If you reload just to see the other choice and then get stuck, you’re more likely to need the full restart plus fast travel method. The game gets salty when you second-guess it.
Extra Tips So You Don’t Rage-Quit

Save before placing the final pieces. Future-you will thank present-you. If the dialogue keeps looping, stop trying to “fix” it in place. Leave the area.
The quest involves a meaningful choice at the end. Don’t stress too hard about which one is correct, the game acknowledges both paths.
Once it finally works, you’ll get the confirmation that the complete set is waiting for Langston. That’s your quest complete moment.
Still Stuck?
You’re not alone. This trigger is clearly a bit fragile. If none of the above works after a couple of clean attempts, report it through the official channels and try reloading a slightly earlier save. Sometimes the game just needs a full mental reset (same as the rest of us after a long session in the Oldest House).
Now, wear your best outfit and go finish that set and try not to think too hard about what those speakers were actually broadcasting. Some mysteries are better left with the volume turned down. You’ve got this.
