Mistfall Hunter Harpy: Everything We Know About Her + Pics

Alright, this time I want to talk about the Mistfall Hunter Harpy, or whatever the hell we’re actually supposed to call her.

After digging through community databases old dev notes and a frankly unhealthy amount of player clips, here’s what I’ve pieced together. Honestly the naming confused me at first.

So, is it a Harpy or not? Yes and no. Players call her the Harpy. Sometimes Siren. Sometimes, with zero shame, “Harpy mommy.” Anyway, this is probably not her official name.

What She Actually is

Before release, the developers were talking about a Soul Wizard: a bird-woman enemy that was getting way more attention in playtests than expected. Honestly even now she gets more attention than everyone expects!

Picture this: mostly human female upper body, feathered arms that work like wings, long bird legs ending in proper talons and a bunch of gold ritual ornaments hanging off her. If you’ve played the Wither 3, you probably familiar with these kinds of creatures.

She looks like someone took ancient American ceremonial aesthetics, mixed them with pure predatory animal energy, and then gave the whole thing a motion-capture session with a very flexible performer.

She’s not a boss. She’s not a romance option. She’s not a secret playable class. She’s just a particularly memorable normal enemy that refuses to die like a normal trash mob.

Fighting her

This is where it gets spicy.

As I saw her in the game, she has a pretty chunky moveset. Players keep complaining that she face-tanks hits and just keeps kicking and repositioning like the damage is optional. Anyway, she is not that hard to defeat if you dodge well and time your hits tightly.

Practical takeaways from watching a lot of people get bodied by her:

  • Don’t greed long attack strings into her. She will punish that.
  • Let her finish her repositioning sequence before you go all-in.
  • Keep stamina in the bank so you can actually dodge the follow-up.
  • Try not to fight her while other trash is still alive. She likes company.
  • Treat her like she has high poise, because right now she acts like she does.

She performs a kind of blue-colored magic that gets damage from a distance. Anyway before it takes damage, the game gives you time to move and dodge. She also can hit in close distance. In each case, she is not much dangerous.

Where to Find Her

Hallowgrove is the confirmed hunting ground. The locations below are the spots I encountered her. Note that Mistfall likes to randomize things, so if she’s not there, just keep sweeping the area or hop into another run.

The Reason Everyone Talking about Her

Let’s be honest. She’s not the strongest enemy in the game. She’s not a Mist Lord. She’s not even a proper elite in every database.

She’s just visually loud and moves in a way that sticks in your brain. The exaggerated design, the ceremonial bling, the motion-captured animalistic kicking. It all adds up to a creature that people remember and meme about long after they’ve extracted.

The developers themselves noted that the Soul Wizard was getting disproportionate attention during the invite-only test, and the community just kept that energy going by calling her a harpy.

So if you came here because you saw a clip of a bird-woman kicking someone into next week and thought “what the hell was that?”, congratulations, you found her.

Everything I Could Find About the Harpy

Honestly this was all the information I could find about this enemy. The game didn’t provide much information, so in addition to my own experience, I dug through developer material, player discussions and gameplay footage and this was everything I could verify without guessing. Hope it helps your unlimited curiosity.
