How to Unlock Fishing in Endacopia (And Catch All 18 Fish)

There are 18 Endacopia fish, and only three of them are biting at any given time. The clock decides which. Before any of that, though, you need a Fishing License from a red cat called Catthew, and owning it isn’t enough. You have to show it to the diver on the dock. One thing worth knowing early: you don’t need all 18 to keep the story moving. Here’s the full list and how to get there.
Spoiler Alert: This guide covers Timesville secrets and an Ending C item. Proceed with caution.
What You’ll Read:
How to Unlock Fishing in Endacopia
Fishing can be unlocked through Catthew, the red cat wandering Timesville. Talk to him, and he starts a game of hide-and-seek with you. These are its three rounds:
- Right of the mysterious cabin that won’t open the normal way.
- Left of the village prison.
- Behind a tombstone in the cemetery.
That third one isn’t Catthew. It’s a monster, and it will come after you. Run toward the upper part of the village, and the real cat is waiting there. He hands over the Fishing License at the end of that conversation.
Now go to the beach. A diver is standing on the dock, and he will not move for you. Take out the License from your inventory (you need hands for that) and show it to him. If you don’t have one, you can get it up the hill from Catthew.

How the Fishing Minigame Works
Grab the rod and press M1 to cast. Watch the bobber and wait for the sparkle. That’s your cue. Press M1 again to hook it, then work the reel and keep the indicator inside the target zone between the two X marks. Let it slip past either X and the fish is gone.
Some fish yank that indicator to the edge fast. A few players found the problem wasn’t their reflexes at all, but their hardware. Moving the reel too quickly can make some input devices stop registering movement. Try smoother movement, a different mouse or trackpad, or use your other hand.
The clock matters as much as your aim. Time in Timesville doesn’t run on its own. It ticks forward only when you enter or leave a building. So if you want a different set of fish, find a door and go in and out until the hand moves.

All 18 Endacopia Fish by Time of Day
Six clock states, three fish each. Nothing overlaps. So you have to visit every state on the clock to get the entire collection.
| Clock State | Fish | In-Game Time |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Nautilus · Colisa Lalia · Jantic Fish | 08 AM |
| Day 2 | Peter Panini · Seahorse · Singin’ Fish | 12 PM |
| Day 3 | Eel · Reddest Fish Ever · Sea Man | 18 PM |
| Night 1 | Pirate · Skele-Fish · RC Ship | 08 PM |
| Night 2 | Crab · Starfish · Big Worm | 00 AM |
| Night 3 | Drawing of a Fish · Jelly · Crate | 04 AM |
Fair warning about the Seahorse. It has a reputation as the one that eats hours, and it’s the fish players complain about more than any other in the Steam comments.

Six Fish or All 18? What Each One Unlocks
Six is the story number. Catthew sends Mellow (you) to the aquarium at night, near the town entrance, where a fox named Whiskers wants the display running again. He asks for six fish, and he means six different ones, not duplicates. So get every fish in two clock states to complete it.
Bring him those six, and he hands you an invite to Paisley’s party. Head to the Condo, upstairs, far right room. The password is Yellow. Tell the owl hosting it that the party is going well instead of tearing it apart, and he warms up enough to let you leave with the Telescope.
Eighteen is the completionist number. It unlocks the “I Want To Be A Fisherman” achievement and a key hidden in the Fishing Paper. Only 15.1% of players have that achievement as of 3 August 2026, rarer than beating any main boss in the game! Tempting, right?

Why “I Want To Be A Fisherman” Isn’t Unlocking Bug Fix
You caught the eighteenth fish, and nothing appeared on Steam? You didn’t miss a fish. The achievement doesn’t fire while you’re still holding the rod.
Leave the fishing interaction. Step away from the pole first, then check. That’s the whole fix, and it’s the single most common reason players think their collection is bugged.
If it still hasn’t unlocked after that, you’re genuinely missing one. The likeliest culprit is a clock state you only half-cleared, since it’s easy to catch two fish in a period, wander off to chase a door, and never come back for the third.
How to Get the Fishing Paper and the Lost Key
Most people get this backwards: the Fishing Paper does not unlock fishing. The License does that. The paper shows up much later, and it’s a collection log.
You get it with the Metal Detector, which comes from the shed the Telescope opens. Take the detector to the beach and sweep near the hole, down toward the bottom edge of the walkable area. The paper has every fish type printed on it, with a key sitting in the middle.
That key won’t drop on its own. Catch all 18, then go back and inspect the completed paper again. The Lost Key falls out.
That’s all there is to know about Endacopia fish. Did you get all 18, or are you struggling like me? Maybe you can teach me a thing or two in the comments as well.
FAQ
What is the “???” catch?
Spoiler: It’s a blurred human head. Players have pulled it up at dawn, midday and night, so it isn’t tied to one clock state. It doesn’t count toward the 18 and doesn’t appear in the aquarium.
Is the ??? head guaranteed?
No. One player finished the game twice without ever seeing it. Nobody has worked out what triggers it, and there’s no confirmed cast count or time that brings it out.
The Metal Detector won’t find the Fishing Paper. What now?
Sweep parallel to the hole on the beach, near the bottom border of the walkable area. That’s the reported spot. Several players have hit this wall and no fix is confirmed yet.
