Zenonia 1 Builds: Best Warrior, Paladin and Assassin Setups

18 years after its original release in Korea in 2008, Zenonia 1 is back, and your first decision is one you can’t take back. Your class is locked to your save file, so the points you spend in the first hour shape the entire run. Below you’ll find what works for each class, and which claims you should treat with caution.
In This Guide:
Zenonia 1 Builds at a Glance
- Best beginner build: Warrior, pure STR
- Best damage build: Assassin, 2 AGI / 1 STR
- Best survivability build: Paladin, STR + CON
Before You Spend a Point
There is no mid-game class switching in Zenonia 1. Pick carefully.
There is good news if you have some experience playing the mobile version. The Steam release is a restoration, not a remake, so the original class growth, skills, equipment, hunger, inventory weight, durability and Good/Evil systems are all still here. That matters for your build: because you carry a weight cap and your gear wears down, early points that raise damage and carrying capacity pay off faster than niche stats do.

Zenonia 1 also has no clean “main stat” system but according to players’ experiences attack power scales more per AGI point than per STR point.
Warrior Build: Pure STR
Stats: STR, with everything else secondary.
Skill order: Crash → Rising Spine / Double Strike → Panic Shout / Shining Blade → Blessed Armor / Berserker Spirit / Mateo
Key passives: Focus of the Archer, Wrath of the Dragon, Strength of the Bear
Gear priority: raw damage and STR, plus anything that reduces SP cost.
This is the safest recommendation in the whole game. When you compare a 2 STR / 1 CON spread against pure STR, you’ll come to the conclusion that the better option is pure STR, and that extra CON never makes up for the damage you give up. A level 90 Warrior ran STR 362 / AGI 98 / CON 98 / SPI 98 with Double Strike 10/10, Berserk Spirit 10/10 and Mateo 7/10.
Warrior is the slowest class and a few of its skills are simply weak, but it has the highest damage ceiling and some attacks reach beyond two tiles.
Paladin Build: STR and CON Sustain
Stats: STR + CON, adding SPI if Holy Bless and Blade Spirit keep draining you dry.
Skill order: Compact Slash → Rising Slash / Restore → Soul Impact / Holy Bless → Blade Spirit / Blast Boom / Holy Shout

A tested level 38 Paladin used STR 115 / AGI 50 / CON 77 / SPI 60, with Restore 1, Holy Bless 4, Soul Impact 1, Blade Spirit 1, Grace of the Crow 10, Strength of the Bull 4, Life of the Wolf 5 and Leather of the Bear 10.
Treat the ratio as flexible rather than fixed. What’s consistent across every documented Paladin is the identity: you soak damage, heal through it and wear enemies down. Pure STR works but is far less forgiving, and the class has no screen-clearing AoE to fall back on.
Assassin Build: AGI and Crit
Balanced: 2 AGI / 1 STR Glass cannon: pure AGI Safer: AGI with occasional CON
Skill order: Frenzy Sword → Explosion / Ice Spear → Burning Spirit / Chain Lightning → Invisibility Illusion / Thunder Storm
Key passives: Agility of the Lynx, Grace of the Crow, Will of the Unicorn, Recovery of the Eagle, Tear of Orion, Howl of the Lion, Wrath of the Dragon

One player running 2 AGI / 1 STR reported roughly 85% crit and 67% evade at level 67. Thunder Storm defines the class, since it’s your answer to packed rooms, while Frenzy Sword stays useful as a cheap opener. Push passives first, then Thunder Storm, and keep prerequisite skills at minimum points.
The Assassin clears dungeons faster than anything else here, but it folds quickly when surrounded.

As of right now, Zenonia 1 has been out for just a day and not much information is available about each of them. These are based on my own experience and the things I was able to find about other players’ experiences. Is there any tip you came across you found useful? Tell us in the comments below.
