The Legend of Khiimori Horse Guide

The Legend of Khiimori is a survival game set in 13th-century Mongolia. You play as a Yam courier rider. The world is beautiful, but the environment is dangerous and unpredictable. Your horse is your most important tool for survival.
What we cover here:
Quick Summary: Essential Horse Tips
Here is a quick overview of the most crucial rules to keep your animal alive:
- Hold the button to complete the brushing and hoof-cleaning progress bars.
- Balance your saddlebags manually to keep the UI arrow in the green zone.
- Equip cold tonics in your quick inventory slot before climbing mountains.
- Don’t rely on just one animal. You must breed specialized horses for different biomes.
- Wash your horse’s hooves immediately after crossing mud to prevent speed penalties.
Core Horse Mechanics
Your horse is a living creature with physical limits and a strong personality. You must treat it like a Tamagotchi. The game forces you to monitor its temperature, stamina and mood. If you ignore its needs, it will refuse to sprint or leave you completely stranded in the wilderness.

Complete Horse Care Guide
Taking care of your horse requires constant attention to its physical and mental needs. Here are the main areas you must monitor:
Health and Stamina
Every horse has a health bar and a stamina meter. Rough terrain and steep slopes eat your stamina bar very fast. You should stick to flat ground whenever possible. You can recover energy by walking slowly or feeding treats.
Food and Water Methods
Food and hydration levels drop naturally as you travel. You need to carry plenty of berries and hay in your inventory. The easiest hydration method is to ride directly into a river or puddle. The horse will automatically lower its head to drink.

Mood and Hoof Cleaning
A happy animal runs faster. A bad mood will lock your speed to a slow walk. You can restore mood points by petting the horse. You also need to brush its coat and tend to its hooves. You must hold the button until the action is fully complete. Muddy trails apply a dirt debuff that cuts your speed in half, so clean the hooves right after you cross a swamp.

How to Balance Saddlebags
Every item has weight and the placement of your cargo matters. You must manually arrange items between the left and right saddlebags. Check the balance arrow on your screen and shift items until it sits in the green zone. An off-balance load exhausts your horse quickly and heavily increases the chance of breaking a leg.

All Horse Stats Explained
Every horse possesses five main skills. These attributes will naturally increase over time depending on how much you ride the horse.
| Stat | In-Game Effect |
|---|---|
| Strength | Determines carry weight capacity and performance on rough terrain. High strength helps resist poison and injury debuffs. |
| Agility | Controls galloping speed and movement across hard surfaces like rock, ice or forest floors. |
| Endurance | Dictates survival chances at low health and resilience in extreme hot or cold temperatures. |
| Balance | Influences how well the horse climbs cliffs and recovers from poorly distributed cargo weight. |
| Spirit | Affects the ability to jump over obstacles and resist fear when predators are nearby |
Permanent Horse Traits
Your horse keeps the same personality for its entire life. These traits decide when it feels happy or upset. Here are all the traits you can get:

When you breed, these traits pass to foals. Pick parents with the traits you want for your biome (Cold lover for mountains, Amphibious for rivers).
How to Breed the Perfect Horse
You cannot tame wild horses. You must breed your own. The fastest way to get max stats is the 3-family method. One player used exactly this and got perfect horses after 270 foals.
Step-by-Step Method
- Buy or start with 6 horses (3 pairs).
- Create 3 families. Name them like 1-Male, 1-Female, 2-Male, 2-Female, 3-Male, 3-Female.
- Breed only cross-family: pair family 1 with 2, then 2 with 3, then 3 with 1.
- Fill the stable (breed until almost full – about 19 horses).
- Look at all new foals. Keep only the best male and best female from each family (the ones with most of the stats you want). Sell the rest.
- Repeat the whole process for the next generation.
After 10-12 generations your three pairs will have pure stats (Robust for strength, Swift + Athletic for agility, Constitution for endurance, Grit for spirit). You can then introduce one new horse to swap a single trait without ruining everything. Each breeding costs 20 coins. Selling extras gives you 200 coins back, so you actually make money while breeding.
How to Train Horse Stats Fast
Stats go up when you ride. You can speed it up a lot.
Early Game Training: Leave base heavy (carry poop, stones, or stellas). Run until your horse’s health bar turns red. This trains endurance. Walk on rock or mud while collecting mushrooms. Clean hooves in water when they get dirty. Eat the mushrooms to make training powder later.
End Game Training (Fastest Method):
- Make your horse overloaded and unbalanced.
- Go to a flat rock area near water.
- Walk or trot in circles.
- Eat training powder every few minutes.
You will see strength, agility, balance and endurance go up at the same time. For spirit, keep stamina low and do delivery missions. Never leave the horse running alone for too long, it can die from hunger.
Weather and Predator Tips
A snowstorm will drain your horse’s health in seconds. You must craft cold tonics and keep them in your quick inventory slot.

Predators hunt by scent. The wind carries your smell directly to bears and wolves. You should observe the wind direction before moving forward. You can shoot sulfur smoke arrows to mask your scent and safely bypass danger.
Your Yam rank is also vital for your survival. You can unlock the advanced nomad camping kit by completing delivery missions. This item allows you to set up camp and recover stamina anywhere in the open field.
