Sol Cesto Flute Guide | All 4 Melody Codes & How to Play

If you just started this game, finding Sol Cesto flute melodies is probably the hardest part for you, too. There are four flute combinations in the game, and three of them have to be found first. But before that, you need to assemble your flute. I’ll explain how to build it, along with the melodies themselves, below.

And about the flute codes: Lowercase words (e.g., yellow) are short notes, and words in caps (e.g., BLUE) are long notes. Keep reading to learn more.

How to Obtain the Flute

First things first, you don’t start the game with the flute in hand. You have to earn its four fragments, piece by piece! Once you find the last part, it visually resembles the mouthpiece, and “your flute is now complete.”

The pieces cannot be found in a normal shop and rather have to be secured during hidden run interactions. An example of this is the piece found in the spring / fountain-related event that awards a Flute Fragment.

Note: Unlike what most players may assume, the flute is not related to unlocking Egg or Lizard.

How to Play the Flute Melodies

You can’t just walk around playing the flute all day like the Pied Piper! You are limited to using just one flute effect per run. That means each time you successfully play a Sol Cesto melody, the flute breaks. You can repair it using the bird at the fountain to play other Sol Cesto flute songs later.

Playing the Sol Cesto flute is super easy: Short notes are short clicks, and long notes are long clicks (that means click and hold). Like Morse code!

As mentioned before, this is what the flute codes mean: words in caps (e.g., YELLOW) are long notes and lowercase words (e.g., blue) are short notes. So without further ado, learn about the flute song codes and where to find them below.

Melody Beyond Worlds Code (Shop Discount)

If you play this code in the store, the shopkeeper gives you a half-price discount on all of the items. Way to bargain, right? This first melody is staring you right in the face on the game’s Steam page. Scroll to the “Early Access Roadmap” or “About this game” sections, and you can watch the following notes being played in one of the gifs.

Clue: “This melody is carried beyond worlds.”

Flute Code: blue red YELLOW BLUE YELLOW

Note: This is the only song you can play at any point in the game. Every other song has to be “unlocked” first, or it will have no effect.

Trapped in a Box Code (Send Money Back to Camp)

This is probably the first flute song you will unlock. Once you have gathered all of the flute pieces, look for a mysterious box in the shop. Inside, you can find a flute combination that lets you send your run’s money back to camp, meaning you can keep your money for the upcoming runs. It costs 20 coins and is worth every penny. Here it is.

Clue: “This melody suffocates, trapped inside a box.”

Flute Code: RED RED red blue yellow

Carved in the Bark Code (Pond Healing)

I bet Healing is your favorite melody too! You can find the combination below if you drop the ice cube item into the pond.

Clue: “This melody is carved into the bark.”

Flute Code: YELLOW red blue RED BLUE

Warning: If you unlock this song, you will be unable to obtain the pond item.

Familiar to the Blacksmith Code (Stat Swap)

The Blacksmith Code is tricky and is where fans mostly struggle. Go to the blacksmith’s upgrade room. Use a candle to illuminate this hidden melody. So don’t forget the candle if you want the Blacksmith song. Playing it will swap your Magic and Physical attack stats for that specific room.

Clue: “This melody is familiar to the blacksmith.”

Flute Code: blue RED blue RED yellow

That’s every Sol Cesto flute song you need to learn. Still having trouble finding any of them? Let me know in the comments below, and I’ll help you out.
