Scrambled Coordinates are the item you need to start Adventures in Loftia. You simply gather them from resource nodes. I’m gonna show you where they drop and how to finish Ryder’s first quest.
This guide is based on the Steam Next Fest demo (October 19–26). Your progress carries into Early Access on November 3, but details may change at launch. Also make sure to update your game to the latest version because in the update that was released 21 of October, the drop chance of Scrambled Coordinates during Ryder’s quest has increased.

How to Get Scrambled Coordinates in Loftia
Gather resources. That is the main way to get them. Scrambled Coordinates are a rare drop, so a node won’t give you one every time.
- Finish the Permission to Glide quest, then speak with Ryder. Ryder introduces Adventures at the Adventure Dock.
- Gather easy nodes like Berry Bushes, Clay Mounds and Tall Grass. Each one can drop 1 coordinate.
- Keep gathering until you have 3. That is what Ryder’s first quest asks for.
The developer increased the drop chance during this quest step in the October 21 patch.
All Scrambled Coordinates Drop Sources
There are 13 known sources: 12 gathering nodes and the Daily Goodies Chest. Each node gives 1 coordinate when it drops. There are no official drop rates yet, and no node is proven to be faster than the others.

The Daily Goodies Chest only gives coordinates after you finish Ryder’s intro Adventure quest. Before that, don’t count on it.

How to Complete Ryder’s Adventure Awaits! Quest
Adventure Awaits! is the quest that teaches you how Adventures work. To finish the quest, follow these steps:
Finish Permission to Glide and speak with Ryder.
Collect 3 Scrambled Coordinates by gathering.
Show the coordinates to the Adventurer. This is not Ryder, and it trips players up. A Steam thread called “Show Coordinates to Ryder?” popped up during the demo.
Complete the Adventure.
Report back with the island data.
You get 15 Scrambled Coordinates as a reward. That is enough for 5 more Adventures.
How to Buy Scrambled Coordinates From Cella
In addition to gathering Scrambled Coordinates, you can buy them. Cella’s Key Shop sells Scrambled Coordinates for 30 Dew each. The shop is linked to Cella’s side quest, The Real Treasure, so unlock that quest first.
One Adventure costs 3 coordinates, which is 90 Dew. You don’t need the shop for Ryder’s first quest, because that one asks you to gather the coordinates yourself.
What Are Scrambled Coordinates Used For?
You spend them to enter Adventures. Each Adventure costs 3 Scrambled Coordinates. Adventures take place on Research Islands and have timed goals.
Keep in mind that The Adventure map is different every time, and objects appear in new places. It would be much better if you team up with friends if you can. Some tasks need two players, but you can do plenty alone.
