Far Far West Cactus Locations: All Graves & Secrets Guide

Looking for Far Far West cactus locations? You’ve come to the right place. Many players are searching for cactus spots in the Desert map, mostly because of the tricky Cactus Day Joker secret mission and all the graves hidden around big groups of cacti. I’ll say where exactly you can find them and how, just follow this quick guide.

Cactus Day Joker Secret Mission

In the Desert map, there are 12 special cacti:

  • 6 parent cacti (the big ones)
  • 6 child cacti (the small ones)

Your job is to pick up each small child cactus and bring it back to its correct parent. Each child cactus gives you a hint about which parent it belongs to. You need to match all of them correctly in one run to complete the secret and unlock the Cactus Day Joker.

Important notes:

  • The special cacti glow with a bright neon purple/pink light, easy to spot. First run around the map and remember all 6 parent locations (they are bigger and easier to spot).
  • Pairings change every run, but the spawn locations stay the same.
  • Each child and parent gives hints (e.g. “near the rocks”, “by the road”, “on the ridge”). Use the hints to match them faster.

Day Joker Locations

The 12 cacti are organized into six themed families. The parent-child pairing is randomized every run, but the spawn locations are fixed. Here’s every family, where to find its parent and child, and the hint that connects them.

Family ThemeParent LocationChild LocationThe Hint to Match
FishingCentral area of the Desert map, near where the river starts. A big mountain is behind it.Small oasis pond near a Marauder camp. The child stands there with a fishing pole. The parent complains the child went fishing. The child says they’re “fishing for the colony.”
Marauder CampNorthern shore of the Desert island.Inside the largest Marauder camp on the map. The child is standing in the middle of the camp. The parent says the child is “asserting dominance” over Marauders. The child claims to be “the one who knocks.”
Pipe / AlienEastern section of the map, near the large pipe network between rock formations. On top of the pipes. You’ll need to climb or jump up to reach the child, who’s tucked into a nest-like spot. The parent admits using the child as “alien bait.” The child is convinced aliens are real and know their name.
Bone / SkullNear a grotto entrance on the western side of the map.Big bone landmark with skeletons and skulls, in the center of the map. The child is inside or next to a giant ribcage. The parent says the child is “obsessed with bones.” The child talks about skulls and skeletons.
Poetry / PirateIn front of a small pyramid on the northeastern side of the map.Northernmost point of the map, near a shipwreck. The parent speaks in rhymes and poems. The child ran away from the “rhyming parent.”
Rock-TastingNear a rocky outcrop on the southeastern end of the map.On top of a nearby pyramid. The child is up high, so you’ll need to do some jumping or parkour. Both parent and child talk about “tasting rocks.” The child went looking for “premium gravel.”

Cactus Locations and Graves

Here are the spots to find those graves hidden between cacti:

  • Thick cactus patches near rocks: One grave is hidden between a bunch of cacti and large rocks. It’s very easy to run straight past it.
  • Northeast part of the Desert: Several graves and collectibles are located here, often close to groups of cacti.
  • Check water tower areas: As I know, at least two graves are often placed near or under them with dense cactus cover.

One grave is found next to a rock pillar surrounded by palm trees and cacti in the southeast area.

In the desert, we have something called Purple Rocks. If you want to complete the area 41 secret mission, you should find it. So Far Far West Purple Rock Locations Guide has been written to help you with this.

Pro tip: When you’re playing the Desert map, slow down every time you see a dense group of cacti. That’s usually where the devs hid something useful, a grave, a tomb, one of the special mission cacti or something.

All 10 Desert Grave Locations

There are exactly 10 graves on the Desert map, and finding all of them rewards you with 1,000 Souls. Unlike the Cactus Day mission, grave progress carries over between runs, so you can collect them across multiple matches. Uncollected graves glow blue, making them easier to spot at a distance. Graves you’ve already collected appear transparent and have an icon on the map.

Here’s every grave, numbered in a route that minimizes backtracking:

  1. Northwest cliff: Behind a cliff near a cave entrance, hidden among small palm fronds.
  2. Southwest coast: At the bottom of a climbable rope, next to a parasol and a bowl of vegetables.
  3. Cave tunnel: Inside the cave at the bottom of the cliff. Enter and keep left.
  4. Water tower rocks: Nestled inside a cluster of rocks beneath a small water tower.
  5. Second water tower: In another rock cluster just northeast of the first water tower.
  6. Rock pillar with cacti: Next to a rock pillar surrounded by palm trees and a dense cactus patch. This is a prime spot where graves and cacti overlap.
  7. On top of the long pipe: Sitting on a small platform on the long pipe that runs across the river. Climb from the north side.
  8. Tall rock pillar with stairs: At the top of a rock pillar with two wooden staircases leading up, next to a shed.
  9. Eastern wooden structure: At the foot of a tall wooden structure with three ladders, on the far eastern side of the map. (Climb to the top for a disc fragment too.)
  10. Southeast ravine: In a small gulch with a river running through it. Drop inside and look under the cliff on the northern side.

Pro tip: Use the blue geysers scattered across the Desert to fast travel and cut down on horse riding time between graves.

Cactus Spell School

The Cactus spell line is pretty fun. You can drop cactus mines that blend in with the normal cacti on the map. This makes them great for surprising enemies. I like to combine cactus spells with other schools (like Electric or Acid) for powerful combos.

Main spells include:

  • Cactus Mines (Mino / Minino): Placeable explosive mines
  • Pistolero: A summonable turret that shoots at enemies
  • Wallo: Defensive cactus walls for area control or blocking
  • Decoyo: Likely a decoy or trap variant

And here is the best cactus spell combos:

ComboEffect
Cactus + VoodooThis is currently considered one of the best combinations in the game. Casting Voodoo spells (Drain, Corruption, Ritual) on your cactus deployments creates powerful effects.
Cactus + ElectricCactus mine + Electric creates lightning explosions in 8 directions. Great for crowd control and clearing groups.
Cactus + StrikesTargeting your own cactus structures (Mine, Pistolero, Wallo, Decoyo) with Strikes triggers a massive 6-strike flowering AoE pattern. Very strong for area damage.
