Pure Water looks like a boring MP potion, but you need it for a quest in Kerning City. The problem is that nobody seems to know where it comes from. In this guide, you’ll find every place to get MapleStory Classic Pure Water, and what it should cost.

Where to Get Pure Water in MapleStory Classic
The easiest way is to buy it from an NPC. There are three places where you can buy Pure Water. Pure Water restores up to 800 MP. You can also get it as a random reward from the Kerning City Party Quest or an event Magic Box, but I wouldn’t count on either. If you only need one bottle, just buy it.
How to Get Pure Water From KPQ and Magic Boxes
Both methods give random rewards. You may get Pure Water, or you may get something else.
Kerning City Party Quest (KPQ)
First of all you need a party of four, all level 21 or higher. Then the leader talks to Lakelis near the sewer entrance in Kerning City. KPQ runs on channels 3 to 12.
Clear all five stages and beat King Slime. Every party member gets a Companion’s Magic Box. One of the possible rewards in a Magic Box is Pure Water. One lucky Reddit player said they got a stack of 10 from a box.
Since KPQ starts at level 21, so it can’t help you with Andre’s Request at level 10.
GM event Magic Box
Nexon’s launch notes list 30 Pure Water as one possible prize. It takes more work:
Complete a GM event in Lith Harbor (talk to Paul after a GM opens the Event Door) to earn a Scroll of Secrets. The next events are Coconut Harvest on November 6 and Up and Up on December 19.
Then bring the scroll and 5 Pig’s Heads to Chun Ji at the Kerning City Construction Site to get a Magic Box.
The box is locked. Mr. Pickall, near the Kerning City subway, opens it for 3 Aquamarines and 5 Slime Bubbles, or 10,000 mesos.
Keep in mind that this box is not the same as the Companion’s Magic Box from KPQ.
How to Buy Pure Water in Sleepywood’s Regular Sauna
There are three places you can buy Pure Water in MapleStory:
- Sleepywood: Mr. Sweatbottom, inside the Regular Sauna (not the VIP Sauna).
- Ant Tunnel Park: the 24 Hr Mobile Store, in the Sleepywood Dungeon.
- Florina Beach: Valen
These are the steps to buy Pure Water from Sleepywood:
Go to Sleepywood and enter the Sleepywood Hotel.
Talk to the Hotel Receptionist and pick the Regular Sauna. Players on Reddit say the entrance costs about 499 mesos. Inside, talk to Mr. Sweatbottom and open his shop. Pure Water is on his list.
Don’t pick the VIP Sauna. Mr. Wetbottom is in there, and he doesn’t sell items. Two Reddit commenters said they walked into VIP by mistake before they found the real shop.
If you don’t want to pay the sauna fee, the 24 Hr Mobile Store in Ant Tunnel Park sells it at the same listed price.
Why You Need Pure Water for Andre’s Request
Andre’s Request is the third quest in Nella’s Kerning City chain. You unlock it at level 10, after you finish Shumi’s Request. To complete it, you need to Defeat 30 Octopus, collect 20 Octopus Legs and finally b+ring 1 Pure Water.
The reward is Work Gloves, plus some EXP and mesos. Grab your Pure Water before you go back to Nella, since Octopus won’t give it to you. Jane’s First Challenge at level 44+ also asks for one Pure Water, so you’ll need another later.
