The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features quite a vast range of armors and swords; many of them unique and honestly, pretty cool-looking. Besides creating bombs and potions through Alchemy, Geralt must acquire the appropriate gear for the job. A strong steel sword will help against humans, elves, and dwarves, while a powerful silver sword will aid in taking down the most terrifying of the monsters.

Armor, Sword, or Witcher Gear?
Best Armors
Although there are many awesome armors in the game, there are some that stand out due to their incredibly high stats, or the bonus effects they offer. The armors aren’t just for building a strong defense for your Geralt. You might be looking for certain armors just for cosmetic reasons. Geralt of Rivia has to have drip. Plus, some of these armors will help you immensely in creating optimized Builds.
Best Swords
Witcher 3 has one of the best-looking, AND at the same time, most powerful swords from any fantasy game (well, those that aren’t anime). You should definitely find the strongest steel/silver sword in each area of the game so you don’t struggle too much with taking down large groups of bandits or the terrifying monsters rampaging the land. You might even need to equip some of these swords so you can take down some of the tougher monsters from Contracts Geralt accepts.
Witcher School Gears
In the Witcher universe, there are many Witcher Schools. Some of these were already in the books, but some others—like the Schools of Bear, Viper, and Manticore—were expanded upon beyond what was originally in Andrzej Sapkowski’s books.
You must collect the specific diagrams for a school to craft its armor and swords. Oftentimes, the diagrams are in very difficult or obscure locations, even though you can purchase the treasure maps for finding them from certain merchants.
