Once Human Dog Deviant: How to Get Labrador, Blackback & Doberman

Looking for the dog Deviant in Once Human? You’re talking about the three Territory Deviations, Labrador, Blackback and Doberman that just made a limited-time return with the Version 3.0.7 update.

Everyone gets a free Dog Selection Crate from the maintenance rewards that lets you pick one at Deviation Level and Stability Level 3.

Want the stronger version? Jump into the Golden Autumn Harvest event for a free 5/5 selectable box that includes all three dogs (plus some other solid options). Here’s exactly how to grab them and what they actually do.

How to Get the Dog Deviant in Once Human

After the September 28, 2026 maintenance, every player receives maintenance rewards in the mail: 1,000 Starchrom, 100 Mitsuko’s Marks, one Epic Stardust Secret Crate S14 and one Dog Selection Crate.

Open the crate (it shows up in your inventory) and choose one of the three limited Deviations:

  • Labrador
  • Blackback
  • Doberman

All three come at Deviation Level 3 and Stability Level 3. This is a one-time free selection for everyone who logs in after the update. The dogs originally launched as limited-time rewards during the mobile official release event, so this is a rare second chance.

Rewards are shared across characters under the same account, so you don’t need to claim it on every alt.

How to Get a 5/5 Dog Deviant

Want the maxed-out version? Join the Golden Autumn Harvest event. Every day at 6:00 AM server time you automatically receive one Golden Leaf. Collect enough leaves to hit the required thresholds and you’ll unlock permanent weapon cosmetics plus a free Golden Autumn Deviation 5-5 Grade Selectable Gift Box.

Open the box and pick one from this list:

  • Labrador
  • Blackback
  • Doberman
  • Flame Essence
  • Brave George
  • Rain Man
  • Whalepup
  • Soul Summoner

Yes, the three dogs are fully included at full 5/5 Deviation Level and Stability Level. Share the event for some extra limited-time critter expressions. Again, rewards are account-shared.

This is the cleanest way to get a high-quality dog without any extra grinding beyond logging in and collecting the daily leaves.

Labrador vs Blackback vs Doberman

They are mechanically identical. All three use the same skill, Furrever Friends and have the same stats and behavior. The only real difference is how they look. Pick whichever breed you think is cutest or matches your base aesthetic. There’s no best dog for performance.

What Does the Dog Deviant Do

These are Territory Deviations. Place one in a Securement Pod in your territory and it activates Furrever Friends. It follows a specific player and provides continuous Sanity restoration. When its owner isn’t around, it usually ignores everyone else.

They don’t fight and aren’t combat companions. Keep their mood up the normal Territory Deviation way and you’ll get steady Sanity support plus some cute company around the base.

Can You Get All Three Dog Deviants?

No, the free Dog Selection Crate gives you one choice. The Golden Autumn Harvest 5/5 box also gives you one choice from its larger list (which includes the three dogs).

There’s no free way to get all three in this event window. Trading is possible in theory if someone else is selling extras, but limited Deviations are often restricted, so don’t count on easily collecting the full set. Focus on the one you actually want most.

Is the Dog Deviant Permanent?

The Dog Selection Crate from maintenance rewards does not have a publicly stated expiration date. The Golden Autumn Harvest event (and its 5/5 box) runs from September 29 to October 14.

Once you claim and secure the dog, it is yours permanently and does not disappear when the event ends. When you change scenarios, Deviations are transferred to Eternaland. Bringing one into a new scenario can require Resource Inheritance Points and is subject to that scenario’s rules.

Dog Deviant vs Lonewolf’s Whisper

Don’t mix these up. Labrador, Blackback or Doberman are the cute dog companions, Territory Deviations that restore Sanity.

Lonewolf’s Whisper (also known as Canine Skull) is a completely different Combat Deviation that attacks enemies. One is a friendly base pet, the other is a combat partner. Different roles, different looks, different acquisition methods.
