CONTROL Resonant outfits are what you need to feel fresh each time you wish to play the game and the good news is that the game’s developer, Remedy Entertainment, doesn’t limit Dylan to a couple of full-body skins. In addition to the different outfit pieces to collect, you get six appearance slots to play.
Moreover, there are cosmetics hidden behind everything from story missions and side quests to vendors and SHUM challenges. while you’re exploring Downtown for some of these rewards, you can also knock out the Beach Day Sketchbook puzzle, where Dylan has a little scene-setting to do before he can draw.

Keep in mind that this isn’t necessarily the full wardrobe. The Form Over Function achievement only asks you to obtain 12 outfit items, but that doesn’t mean there are exactly 12 in the game. Outfit items are awarded through several types of content and you should naturally get plenty while working through the story and side activities.

If you’re wondering why Dylan is the playable lead this time around, we’ve also explained how Control Resonant connects to the first Control and why it’s a direct sequel.
How to Get Outfits in Control Resonant
Thankfully, Dylan doesn’t have to spend his entire adventure dressed like he just escaped an FBC holding cell.
Outfit items can come from main missions, side quests, Resonant encounters, SHUM arcade activities and vendors. Some cosmetics are also tied to pre-orders, special editions, Twitch drops and Remedy promotions.
The most useful outfits to focus on are the ones earned through normal gameplay, since anyone can pick them up without owning a specific edition or having claimed a time-limited promotion.
Agent Uniform
The Agent Uniform is one of the easiest outfits to get because it’s tied directly to the story.
Complete Evacuation Procedures, the second main mission in the Contain the Crisis questline. Once you finish the mission and get Arish out of the Evacuation Site, the Agent Uniform is included among the rewards alongside a Living Shard and the Level 2 Keycard.
In other words, you can’t really miss this one if you’re progressing normally.
Aramid Work Clothes
You’ll get the Aramid Work Clothes for completing the Panopticon Service Request side quest.
The quest starts with Langston near the FBC Field Office in Central and sends you into the Field Panopticon to deal with its Altered Items. Finish the whole request and the Aramid Work Clothes are added to your available cosmetics. You also receive the Untapped Feeding Bottle Artifact recipe.
Sensory Restraint Hood
The Sensory Restraint Hood is a little more interesting because simply finishing its related quest isn’t enough.
During Crossing the Threshold, Dylan needs to believe Wilson and carry AVP-3 himself. Apparently, the Sensory Restraint Hood and Untapped Practice Knot recipe are the rewards for taking this route. Choosing the containment outcome instead gives you neither.
So if this is an outfit you want, pay attention to your decisions instead of clicking through the dialogue like I tend to do when I’m in a hurry.
Standard Issue Coverall
Complete Maintenance Protocol to unlock the Standard Issue Coverall.
You’ll get access to the mission through Zoe’s Briefing at the Watchtower, after which the investigation takes Dylan into the Underpass. Finish the quest and the Standard Issue Coverall is your outfit reward.

Plate Carrier M1
The Plate Carrier M1 comes from the Urban Survival side quest in the Evacuation Zone.
You can start the quest by finding the investigation-order file outside the trapped parking lot in the southern part of the zone. Follow the quest through to the end and you’ll receive the Plate Carrier M1 alongside the Untapped Heart Monitor Artifact recipe.
Varsity Jacket
For something a little less FBC-looking, there’s the Varsity Jacket from The Party Won’t Stop.
You’ll come across this side quest around the apartment building in the West Incursion Zone, where a paranormal karaoke party has gone very wrong. Complete the quest and you’ll receive the Varsity Jacket and Untapped Bar Blade.
You do not need a perfect karaoke performance just to get the jacket. Instead, for the Be What You Want to Be trophy, you are required to get every lyric right and save everyone.
Pre-Order, Deluxe and Promotional Outfits
Not every CONTROL Resonant outfit comes from exploring Manhattan. There are also several cosmetics attached to special editions and launch promotions.
Hiss Corruption Outfit
The Hiss Corruption Outfit is a pre-order bonus for Dylan.
Remedy’s official Steam FAQ lists both the Hiss Corruption Outfit and Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact as pre-order rewards. PlayStation’s store page also lists the outfit among its pre-order content.

AWE Mission Outfit
The AWE Mission Outfit is included with the CONTROL Resonant Digital Deluxe Edition.
Despite the name, you don’t unlock this one by finishing an AWE mission. It’s one of the cosmetic bonuses bundled with the Deluxe Edition alongside the Untapped Artifact, starter resources, digital artbook and soundtrack.
Occult Outfit
PlayStation pre-orders also include the Occult Outfit.
It’s worth separating this one from the general pre-order rewards because Remedy’s Steam FAQ only lists the Hiss Corruption Outfit for PC pre-orders, while the PlayStation Store specifically advertises the Occult Outfit as part of its pre-order package.
Sierra Outfit
The Sierra Outfit is split into three pieces and comes from CONTROL Resonant’s launch Twitch Drops campaign.
Watch eligible CONTROL Resonant streams for one hour to unlock the Sierra Suit, two total hours for Sierra Vest, and four total hours for the Sierra Helmet. The current campaign runs from September 22 to October 13, 2026.
Newsletter Cosmetics
Remedy is also offering two cosmetics for signing up for the official CONTROL Resonant newsletter, which are the Communication Department Headset and Optical Filtering Goggles.
These are individual customization items rather than complete outfits, but they’re worth grabbing if you’re trying to fill out Dylan’s wardrobe. Remedy has directly advertised both as newsletter rewards.

How to Change Outfits in Control Resonant
To change Dylan’s appearance, find and interact with a wardrobe. These show up on the map with a jacket icon, inside places like the Oldest House in Downtown and the Evac Building in the Evacuation Zone.
Once you’re at a wardrobe, Dylan’s appearance is divided into six customization slots: Top Layer, Hair, Base Layer, Facial Hair, Accessories, and Body and Face. Select a slot and equip any cosmetic you’ve unlocked for it.
This is why the game’s terminology can get a little confusing. Some rewards are complete named outfits, while others are individual pieces that fill one of those six slots.
