Moonlight Peaks Moonlight Ball: How to Make It Work

Moonlight Peaks is not in my top favorites, but I was enjoying it anyway. Until it came to this Moonlight Ball and it was like a punch to my face.

After reading and searching a lot. I understood that I should just wander for around 2 real time minutes there and do almost nothing. It’s stupid, but we can’t just wait for the devs to solve bugs like this. Here are all the possible ways to finish the event. I hope I actually help you in this.

What Even is Moonlight Ball

The Moonlight Ball is a summer festival in the game, held on Summer 20 (game time) at the Town Hall Garden.

It’s a formal gathering where the whole town dresses up to celebrate unity and the summer. You actually are supposed to socialize and mingle with the villagers. At the end of the night, the Moon Goddess awards Moonlight Crowns to the best-dressed couple (you and your partner can win them).

It’s meant to be one of the most romantic and atmospheric events in the game, though right now many players find it buggy and underwhelming.

How to Trigger the Winner Announcement

The ceremony triggers after about 2 real-life minutes of just hanging out at the ball. My first mistake was that I wanted to enjoy my time there! But the game doesn’t let you do that!

So you can’t spend these minutes playing Nokturna or talking to people. If you do so, time spent probably does not count toward the timer or anyway the process becomes buggy.

So the best method is to just show up, stand around or walk a bit for a couple of minutes without starting mini-games or long conversations.

Common Fixes That Work

I didn’t do anything and just wasted my time and fortunately the event was done. But some players are not as lucky as me. If the Moonlight Ball is still buggy, try these:

Leave the garden area and come back in. Apparently, this has worked for some players. You actually reset the process with this and the bug may fade away. If nothing happens, try leaving and re-entering again.

Some players also say that they had to wait longer. So, try waiting until around 4-6 AM in game time if you’ve tried other solutions already.

Other Issues with Moonlight Ball

As I said, this event was like a punch right to my face. It can be so much better than that.

There is literally No music or special dialogue. The event feels more like a normal gathering than a real ball right now.

For me, there was no one dressed up or dancing. It was really underwhelming visually. It’s only a few minutes but even some minutes feel like a lot in a situation like this.

Heads up: even when the ceremony does trigger, some players have reported being announced as the “best dressed couple” alongside an NPC they aren’t even romancing! So the pairing logic itself may currently be buggy, not just the trigger timing.

Winning the Crowns

If you finally trigger the event, you’ll win the crown. You can just sell it if you want (it worths 9k).

Yes, the event could definitely use some love from the devs (more activities, better atmosphere, you name it). Anyway for now, I provided the most consistent way to get through it.

Hope this helps you actually finish the ball without wasting the whole night! If the problem has other solutions, let us know. If it doesn’t, maybe we should just wait for the devs to do something about it and let it go.
