Everwind Jungle Guide | How to Find Jungle Wood Planks

Finding jungle planks in an Everwind jungle can be grindy, especially in the early game. After hours of playing the game and researching, I uncovered three ways to find jungle planks for both the early and late game. You can either: 1. Find them on Grimrock islands, 2. Buy them from merchants, 3. Visit jungle islands above 1,000 blocks in altitude. Keep reading to find out how to grasp the jungle biome.

Finding Jungle Wood Plank Quick Guide
Below, you’ll find the quick guide to acquiring the jungle wood planks based on the altitude your ship can reach.
| Source | Game Stage | Location & Expected Yield |
| Smashing Containers | Early Game | Grimrock Islands (Sea Level): Low to moderate yield. Drops ready-made planks with zero combat required. |
| Dismantling Bridges | Early Game | Grimrock Moat Mazes: Jackpot drops. Yields roughly 150 planks per bridge chopped. |
| Trading with Vendors | Early to Mid Game | High-Altitude Villages: Highly randomized inventory on Builder NPCs. Good backup, but inefficient for farming. |
| Logging Jungle Trees | Mid to Late Game | Jungle Islands (1,000+ Altitude): Massive yield. 1 Jungle Log gives 3 Planks, but beware of the local mobs and Mortivar Lord. |
1. Find Jungle Planks on Grimrock Islands (Early Game)
The first method is the easiest and my favorite for the early game. You can find Everwind jungle planks on what I like to call “Grimrock” Islands. These islands feature Green Stone Temples that are made of Grimrocks.
There are some islands at sea level with dark structures that look like pagodas or temples made of Grimrock. They are typically near tropical islands and become more common the higher you go.
From my experience, there are no hostile creatures on these islands. You will only find cute capybaras and pheasants on them. That’s why some fans also call them Capybara islands. (Special thanks to Slappy Box Gaming, where I first learned about this method. Check it out.)

Land on these islands and explore. You may find anything from junglewood blocks to junglewood crates and barrels. Now smash them to pieces and Voilà! You will have ready-made jungle planks.
These islands have more to offer than just some wooden crates. You may find Potions, Gems, Blueprints, and Skulls here. Although they are randomized in each run. I even once found some Run Lights, which I later used to create a Rune Crafting Station. So keep exploring and loot everything.

If you are lucky, you will find islands that have a maze or moat structure. These places have massive wooden bridges that may offer you enough wood to max out your ship upgrades. So if you find the moat structure we talked about, chop down its bridge without any hesitation. You may go home with around 150 wood.
Pro-tip: Don’t forget to break the shrines you stumble across. They drop materials that are used to upgrade your armor and weapons.
2. Purchase Jungle Logs From Villagers (Early Game)
If you are struggling to find the islands mentioned before, you can also try buying jungle logs from some villagers. You may find vendor stalls in higher altitude villages that sell jungle logs.
They aren’t everywhere, but you’ll find them if you look hard enough. You are more likely to find them on builder NPCs. However, their inventory is usually random. So don’t be discouraged and keep looking.

3. Visit Jungle Islands (Mid to Late Game)
Let’s face it. The best and easiest way to get jungle wood is to visit jungle islands. The only problem is that these islands only spawn at an altitude of 1,000 blocks or higher. So you need to upgrade your ship to be able to reach higher altitudes.
Once you find these islands, you will be swimming in resources. Now all you have to do is take out your Copper Blade or Wooden Long Axe and chop as many jungle logs as you need. And remember that, just like other types of wood, each jungle log produces 3 jungle planks.

Keep in mind that these are not your safe Capybara islands we were skipping about at sea-level. These islands might be more hostile, and you may even provoke the Mortivar Lord. So make sure you are fully prepared and learn about Everwind Magic or Melee based on your playstyle.
That’s everything I learned. I’ll keep playing and let you know any new methods I find. Do you know any pro-tips I missed? Let me know in the comments below, and I’ll add them to the post.
FAQ
What is the best way to get jungle wood early in the game?
The absolute best way is to find “Grimrock” islands at sea level. They are completely safe from hostile mobs and have tons of crates and barrels you can smash for quick planks without needing a high-level ship.
Why can’t I find any jungle islands?
Jungle islands only start spawning once you reach an altitude of 1,000 blocks or higher. If you haven’t upgraded your ship’s lift capacity yet, stick to searching for Grimrock islands at sea level.
Do the builder NPCs always sell jungle logs?
No, their inventory is completely random. While they are a great backup option, it’s usually faster to go out and find a Grimrock island rather than flying from village to village, hoping a vendor has them in stock.
What is the jungle log to the jungle plank ratio?
Each jungle log can turn into 3 jungle planks.
