Should You Report Li Bei Wen for Probably Stolen?
That really depends on the run you are doing. Are you a model citizen? Are you addicted? Do you dabble in chemistry? All of these questions can affect your choice on whether to give him off or not.
The 400 credits can be useful when you are in a pinch and cannot be undermined; however, if you get your hands in the chemistry business, then you can use the formula from Li Bei Wen and earn more than 400 in the long run. So, short term, give him up; long term, help him out.
Who Is Li Bei Wen and When Does He Appear?
Li Bei Wen is a wanted scientist. He will appear on day 14 (day 5 if you skip the intro) and tell you his story. He’s been working on a new non-addictive version of Oxymore. He claims that Big Pharma has labeled him a cartel drug cook, and he’s now wanted by security.
How to Complete Li Bei Wen’s Storyline
There are two routes you can take on this quest. You can give up Li Bei Wen for 400 credits or interact with him until you get the Nomore formula.
First Visit: Nomore Samples and the Bounty
Day 14 (Day 5 without intro) is the first time you meet Li Bei Wen. He will tell you his story and ask you to buy some of his prototypes of Nomore so he can get off the station and continue his research.
Buy his batch from him, and he will leave. He returns three days later, on day 17.
Second Visit: Deliver Chemical Supplies
On day 17, He will come to you and want to buy Chemical supplies from you. Here is where the fun mechanics lie. If you don’t sell him anything, it will take him 17 days to complete his research and give you the prizes. However, for each Chemical Supply (common) and Chemical Supply (restricted), you can reduce -4 and -7 in that order.
Upon receiving nothing, he will return 7 days later and ask for material again. The same rules apply: give him common and reduce the timer by 4; give him restricted and reduce the timer by 7. The shortest you can get the timer is 2 days.
Final Visit: Collect the Nomore Formula
A note arrives with two high-purity (99% – 100%) Nomores from Li Bei Wen. The note will give you the formula for the Nomore.
