There’s a unique denim Scout Jacket in RDR2 that you can unlock once you complete Pearson’s rabbit request. It’s easy to find the rabbit. The tricky part is to get Pearson to request it in the first place. And out of all the item requests in RDR2, this is one camp reward you don’t want to put off until later.
That’s because the denim Scout Jacket that Pearson gives you as a reward makes you one of the most stylish and baddest-looking outlaws in the Wild West. Let’s see how to get it.

How to Trigger Pearson’s Rabbit Request in RDR2
Head to your camp at Horseshoe Overlook in Chapter 2 anytime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. I’d say 10 a.m. to noon is the sweet spot and honestly, that’s how I got him to request it.
Look for Pearson at that little prep table next to his wagon. He will usually have a beer and may whistle and whatnot. Walk up and select Greet. If the conversation starts, he will tell Arthur he looks peaky and then offer to make rabbit stew as long as you bring him a rabbit.
How to Get the Denim Scout Jacket from Pearson
Once Pearson asks, hunt a rabbit and bring the carcass back to camp. Rabbits show up all over the map, so you don’t need any special spot. Bring an unskinned rabbit. I’ve had luck with lower-quality ones, so a three-star rabbit isn’t a must.
Talk to Pearson and pick Give Request. Then go to his butcher table and select Donate to give him the rabbit. That donation is the key step. Just talking to him won’t wrap it up.
Once you’ve done that, the unique denim Scout Jacket is yours. Pearson doesn’t hand it over himself. Look in the Coats section of Arthur’s wardrobe once you give him the rabbit.
Pearson’s Rabbit Request Not Triggering? Try This
It’s said that you can trigger this in Chapters 2 through 4, but I haven’t been able to get it reliably after Chapter 2, neither have a lot of other players, from what I’ve found online. So, to make sure you don’t miss the reward, finish it while the gang is still at Horseshoe Overlook.
Make sure Pearson is at the small side table, not just near the stew pot. If the right conversation isn’t triggered, leave camp and come back to reset what he’s doing. You might need a few tries in the late morning. Finally, make a backup save before donating the rabbit in case the jacket doesn’t appear.
