How to Make Wine
Making wine in Moonlight Peaks is actually pretty simple once you get the basics down.
Growing Your Grapes
First, you need to farm and grow grapes. You can buy the seeds from Luna, the seed seller. Plant them on your farm, water them regularly with your watering can or any magical tools you have.
Make sure to add fertilizer to the soil before the plants actually start growing. This Third step is important because it helps you get higher quality grapes that turn into better wine later.
A Tip I Know: Grapes grow well in Spring and Summer and you can harvest them multiple times during those seasons.
Crafting and Using Kegs
Grapes coming in? The next big step is crafting a keg. This becomes available shortly after you grow your first batch of grapes. It costs a good amount of wood, so you’ll need to spend some time chopping trees or foraging for materials.
After building your first keg (and eventually more of them), it’s time to start processing your grapes.
The Wine Making Process
There we go for the main part of my guide: To make wine, just put your grapes into the keg, choose what you want to produce and let it work.
You have a few options: Red Wine (needs 4 Blood Grape), White Wine (4 White Grapes) and Mana Wine (2 White Grapes + 2 Blood Grapes + 1 Mana Essence).
Pro tip for beginners: Start with White Wine. The seeds cost the same as red, but white wine sells for more money. Later on, you’ll want a mix of both.
Mana Wine in Moonlight Peaks
Mana Wine is the high-end version you’ll want to make once you’re a bit further into the game. You can craft it in the keg using 2 White Grapes, 2 Blood Grapes plus 1 Mana Essence. It takes the usual two days to process.
This one is actually one of the best moneymakers. You can sell it for 3 times the price of red wine. It also gives you 2 Manas if you drink it.
Making that, you’ll need a steady supply of Mana Essence (made by putting magical crops into the Mana Extractor) to keep production going.
Why We Want Wine
In moonlight peaks, wine is an item which can be a lot of help and this is not just a cliché in my text.
Main Benefits
Honestly, the biggest reason I focus on it is money. When you process grapes into wine, you can sell it for 8 to 17 times what the raw grapes are worth.
That’s a huge jump compared to selling crops straight from the field or even cooking most recipes. White wine tends to sell for a bit more than red, so it’s great for building up your coins early on.
Other Uses for Wine in Moonlight Peaks
You can also drink the wine for an energy boost. Red wine gives you more energy than white if you choose to sip it, though most people prefer selling it instead.
Wine and juice also work decently as gifts for the villagers, which helps build friendships. And don’t forget that early in the game you’ll get a simple quest to deliver some red wine, so having a keg running makes that task stress-free.
Helpful Tips for Wine Success
Now that you know the basics, here are some practical things that make wine-making a lot smoother.
- Start by focusing on white wine in your first season or two because the seeds cost the same as red but white sells better.
- Fertilizer is your best friend here. Always apply it before your grape plants start growing, especially since grapes stay in the ground for a long time and can be harvested repeatedly.
- Using the universal storage inside your house is a game changer. Anything you put in there connects to your 3 times, so you don’t have to carry ingredients around manually every time.
- Try not to sell raw grapes unless you’re desperate for quick coins. Processing them is almost always better. Also, set aside some two-star grapes for the museum later. Donating them will unlock nice rewards that help your whole farm.
