Soulmask Anubis: How to Beat the Boss and Get Doomsday Judgment

Soulmask Anubis and its mask, Doomsday Judgment lets you channel the Egyptian god of the dead. It offers excellent survivability, reflects harmful status effects back at attackers, extends bandage duration by 50% and allows you to raise fallen enemies as temporary undead allies in Mimicry Mode. This mask excels in long fights, crowd control, and turning chaotic battles in your favor.

You should beat Anubis boss to obtain its mask and that devil is hard to beat. But don’t worry, I learned the best way to defeat it and I’ll tell you all the tips I know. That mask worth it.

Reaching the Anubis Hound Boss

To beat the Anubis, first you should find it, right? This is another reason some players have trouble getting the mask. Here’s the way to reach it:

  • Travel to the Sunken City region on the Shifting Sands map.
  • Use the Mysterious Portal for fast travel.
  • Head north from the portal until you reach the Ancient Pyramid.

You should aim for Awareness Strength 30 or higher before attempting the fight. Lower levels make the encounter much tougher due to the boss’s damage output and speed.

Preparing for the Anubis Fight

Bring 2–3 well-geared tribesmen and set them to Defensive mode with auto-bandage at 80% health. Recommended gear includes:

  • A sturdy shield for blocking charges
  • High-defense armor
  • Plenty of bandages, healing soups, and energy items

Many players switch to the Sobek Crocodile Mask temporarily for extra tankiness before swapping to Anubis later.

How to Beat the Anubis Hound

Soulmask Anubis Hound is a fast, aggressive jackal-like boss with strong charges, bites, and sweeping attacks. It becomes even more dangerous in its second phase.

Stay mobile at all times, standing still gets punished quickly. Use your tribesmen to draw aggro while you deal damage safely from the sides or with ranged attacks. Focus on parrying when possible, kiting during aggressive bursts and healing proactively. Keep the boss’s attention on yourself so your tribesmen can output damage without dying.

After defeating the Hound, harvest its body with your knife to obtain the key. Use this key to unlock the inner chamber of a nearby pyramid, where the Anubis Mask is waiting.

Soulmask Anubis Mask Abilities

Activate Mimicry Mode (default C key) to transform into the jackal-headed god. What will happen?

  • 50% longer bandage duration: Huge sustain boost for tough encounters.
  • Status Reflection: Any debuff or status effect applied to you gets reflected back to the attacker (very strong in PvP and against status-heavy enemies).
  • Undead Army: Kill marked enemies while in Mimicry Mode and they rise as temporary undead soldiers that fight for you alongside your tribesmen.

Important Note: Undead Army is NOT a base ability. Mimicry Mode gives +50% bandage duration and status reflection immediately. The full undead summon (reconstruct slain enemies to fight for you for 60 seconds) unlocks only on the second upgrade of the Final Judgment node in the mask tree. Many players miss this and think the mask is bugged or something.

Upgrading the Mask

Look for the Restrictive Module in the same pyramid ruins or nearby Ancient Ruins. Level up the mask using the Golden Legend Mask to unlock stronger passives and improved effects. Many players consider Anubis one of the best masks for solo survival and prolonged boss fights in Soulmask.

Kill Anubis and Take the Mask

The Anubis Mask or that Doomsday Judgment is one of the most rewarding divine masks in Shifting Sands. With strong sustain, status reflection, and the ability to raise an undead army, it turns you into a true god of judgment on the battlefield.

Once you defeat the Anubis Hound and fully upgrade the mask, the desert becomes much more forgiving and far more fun. Your enemies will literally fight for you in death. Master the Anubis Mask, and you’ll dominate both bosses and everyday survival in the Shifting Sands.

FAQs

What is the minimum requirement to fight the Anubis Hound?

You need Awareness Strength 30 or higher. Below that, the boss becomes significantly harder or may not spawn properly.

Where exactly is the Anubis Hound located?

In the Sunken City region. Use the Mysterious Portal, then head north to the Ancient Pyramid. The boss roams near or inside the pyramid area.

Is the Undead Army available right after getting the mask?

No. Mimicry Mode immediately gives 50% longer bandages and status reflection. The full undead summon (raising slain enemies for 60 seconds) only unlocks after reaching mask level 10 and activating the Final Judgment node with the Restrictive Module.

How do I upgrade the Anubis Mask?

Find the Restrictive Module (Doomsday Judgment version) inside the same pyramid or nearby Ancient Ruins. Level the mask to 10 using the Golden Legend Mask, then use the module + crystals to unlock the final powerful nodes.

What does the Anubis Hound drop?

It reliably drops a key to the mask chamber, Delicate Hide (used for medium airship wings), and Blue Crystals. Harvest the body with your knife after killing it.

Is the Anubis Mask good for solo players?

Yes, it’s currently one of the strongest masks for solo PvE, prolonged fights, and crowd control thanks to status reflection and the growing undead army. It’s also excellent in PvP.

Any tips for the boss fight?

Bring 2–3 tribesmen set to Defensive mode with bandages at 80% health. Use a shield, stay mobile and kite in Phase 1 (parrying is often inconsistent). Let tribesmen tank while you deal damage from the side. Bleed weapons help a lot.

Can I switch masks during the fight?

Yes. I recommend you start with the Sobek Mask for extra tankiness, then switch to Anubis once they have the key or for the reward phase.
