Deltarune Pizzapants: Chapter 5 Story and All Date Choices

This article is based on the Chapter 5 (Festival Day) release. This part of the game just dropped, so small details may shift with future patches.

Pizzapants is the grumpy orange cat who runs the pizza joint in Hometown, and Chapter 5 finally pays off his long-running “girlfriend” storyline. During Festival Day, Deltarune Pizzapants throws a concert to introduce Pizzarina to the town, and the game hands you one big choice: you pick who joins him on stage.

There are three options here. If you just want the short answer, here it is. Bratty gives him a real date, Blue Ears (the Nice Cream Guy from Undertale) ends in heartbreak, and Catty ends in a weird new band. The rest of this guide breaks down how he got here, where to find him, and what every choice actually does.

Who Is Pizzapants?

If the name feels familiar, that is because he is Burgerpants from Undertale. In Deltarune he flips pizzas instead of burgers at ICE-E’s P”E”ZZA, and his real name is never revealed. Everyone just calls him Pizzapants.

He works alongside Blue Ears, The Warrior, and Purple Guy. Blue Ears is the blue rabbit known as the Nice Cream Guy in Undertale, and he matters a lot to the story below. The personality is the same bitter, sarcastic energy fans know from Undertale: he hates the job, hates most of his co-workers, and dreams of leaving town to become a movie star. The one person he softens up for is Kris, who he calls “Little Buddy.”

The Pizzarina Story So Far (Chapters 2–4)

To understand the Chapter 5 payoff, you need the setup. The whole “girlfriend” arc has been building since Chapter 2.

  • Chapter 2: Pizzapants brags to Kris that he has a girlfriend who loves pizza and bikinis. The truth is brutal. Bratty was messing with him using a zoomed-in JPEG of a pepperoni pizza, and he never noticed.
  • Chapter 4: The fake girlfriend now has a name, Pizzarina. Pizzapants tells Kris and Susie about a date he has planned for that evening. She stands him up, but then leaves him a plate of cookies and a note asking him to meet at the festival. Blue Ears is seen right after near the restaurant, which hints at who really left them.
  • The handoff: In Chapter 4, Bratty talks Blue Ears into taking over the Pizzarina texts. So by the time the festival arrives, the person texting Pizzapants is not who he thinks at all.

Where to Find Deltarune Pizzapants in Chapter 5

You meet him in two spots during Festival Day.

First, he is standing near the Hospital, still in his ICE-E suit and holding a microphone on a stand. Talk to him and he invites Kris to a concert he is throwing for the festival, where Pizzarina will supposedly come on stage and sing a love song with him at their first real meeting.

After that, he moves to a stage on the front lawn of the Holiday Estate. He waits there for his girlfriend to show so he can start performing for the crowd. Bratty, Blue Ears, and Catty are all standing nearby. This is the moment the choice happens. You can push any of the three on stage with him, and the result changes based on who you pick.

All Pizzapants Date Choices in Chapter 5

Here is the quick comparison before the details.

ChoiceWhat HappensEnding Tone
BrattyShe plans to dump him but falls for his sincerity, partly for free pizzaHappy / wholesome
Blue EarsThe catfish is exposed, Pizzapants feels betrayed and gives upTragic / sad
CattyShe mocks him, then randomly catches feelings and starts a bandChaotic / comedic

Choosing Bratty

Bratty is the one who admits she originally created the Pizzarina prank to humiliate him. When forced on stage, she just wants to get it over with and dump him, even planning to fake her own death afterward so she avoids the social embarrassment. Then it turns. She is won over by how genuinely Pizzapants cares about her, and the promise of unlimited free pizza as long as they date does not hurt either. He invites her to ride the ferris wheel and the two run off hand in hand. Blue Ears is happy for them and proposes a new “Pizza and Poison” ice cream flavor to celebrate, while Catty is just baffled that anyone could like Bratty.

Choosing Blue Ears

This is the heartbreak route. Blue Ears (the Nice Cream Guy) panics and lies, telling Pizzapants that Pizzarina was too busy to come, so she sent him to sing her song instead. Pizzapants buys it and performs the duet. After the concert, guilt gets the better of Blue Ears and he confesses the whole thing. He was the one catfishing Pizzapants as Pizzarina after Bratty dumped the role on him.

Pizzapants feels completely betrayed. He blows up, decides Blue Ears only ever wanted to make him suffer, sarcastically thanks him for the cookies, and dramatically swears off both pizza and girlfriends before storming off. Blue Ears is too shaken to even talk to Kris afterward. If you check in with Bratty, she admits it was a bad idea, but Blue Ears tells Kris he is done being her friend.

Choosing Catty

This route is pure chaos. Catty starts by announcing every embarrassing fact she knows about Pizzapants to the crowd, then sings with him anyway out of pity. Afterward, she talks with him about Pizzarina and he reveals just how devoted he is to her. The sincerity moves Catty to tears, and she guesses Pizzarina must have died before reaching the concert.

Pizzapants awkwardly pats her back to comfort her, and that small moment flips a switch. She suddenly develops a shallow crush on him, says hearing Pizzarina’s name made her hungry, asks him to take her to ICE-E’s, and proposes they start a band together. He confusedly agrees to all of it, and she drags him off by the neck. Bratty ends up jealous, and Blue Ears is just glad Pizzapants seems okay, even suggesting a “Pizza and Cat Hair” ice cream while wishing he had a more direct way to make him happy.

Which Choice Is Best?

There is no “correct” answer, and none of the three changes the main story or your progress. This is a pure flavor choice, so pick based on the ending you want to see.

  • For the happiest result, pick Bratty. It is the only route where Pizzapants walks away in a real relationship and genuinely smiling.
  • For the full emotional gut-punch, pick Blue Ears. It is the most story-heavy route since it finally exposes the catfish out loud and shows the fallout. It is also the saddest.
  • For the funniest, most unhinged result, pick Catty. It makes the least sense and that is the point.

If you only plan to do one, Blue Ears is the most “complete” version of the arc narratively, but Bratty is the one most players find satisfying after watching this poor guy get pranked for three chapters straight.

FAQ

Is Pizzapants the same character as Burgerpants?

Yes. He is Burgerpants from Undertale, just renamed. In Undertale he worked at the MTT-Brand Burger Emporium inside the MTT Resort. The game files in Deltarune even still label him “burgerpants.”

Who is Pizzarina really?

There was never a real Pizzarina. Bratty invented the persona in Chapter 2 as a prank, then got Blue Ears (the Nice Cream Guy) to take over the texts in Chapter 4. So the “girlfriend” texting Pizzapants by Chapter 5 was actually Blue Ears.

Does the Pizzapants choice affect the rest of the game?

No. The three outcomes only change Pizzapants’ personal scene and the dialogue around it. Your main story, your party, and your chapter 5 ending are not affected.

Why does Pizzapants call Kris “Little Buddy”?

It comes from his friendship with Asriel, Kris’ older brother. He is fond of Kris as Asriel’s younger sibling and often gives them life advice.
